TAKE THE GRASSROOTS SURVEY

Results from the 2018-19 edition identified five key areas – both on and off the pitch – where a renewed focus is required:

1. Identify the resources and tools that clubs need the most support with
2. Foster the right experience for participants at this level of the game
3. Encourage young people to stay active in different roles
4. Ensure the RESPECT campaign has a positive impact on all participants
5. Adapt to modern grassroots football as it grows and evolves

Responses also led Cornwall FA to help 34 female coaches take The FA Level 1 in Coaching; Suffolk FA to invest £1 million into local football facilities; Cumberland FA to assign new referees with a mentor and Hertfordshire FA to provide 22 teams with financial assistance.

James Kendall, The FA’s new director of football development, said: “The Grassroots Football Survey provides us with invaluable insight into the constantly evolving nature of the game at this level and relays the views of our participants within the decision-making process.
