TEENAGE REF ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED BY PARENT AT YOUTH GAME

The incident took place at an under-14s match and one of the clubs has said it is ‘dealing with the matter internally’

 

A teenage referee was allegedly assaulted by a parent at a youth football match in Rhondda Cynon Taf. South Wales Police have confirmed they are investigating an alleged assault which took place at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre on Thursday, April 10.

 

The incident occurred during a match between the Tonyrefail and Penydarren U14 football teams in the Cynon Rhondda Merthyr Gold League.

 

We are aware the incident has been reported and the necessary investigations are now taking place.

 

No further details about the incident have been disclosed at time of writing and we will bring further information once South Wales Police release further details.
