THE ROLE

As part of the FA Education team, you will develop a strategy and lead the creation, delivery and implementation of Talent Identification and Development content for Performance Education. You will need to assess the demand of the football talent workforce (Part-time scouts, professional coaches, specialist support staff, Heads of Recruitment, Academy Manager, Technical Directors) to develop and oversee the delivery of Talent Development qualifications and CPD opportunities for the whole game.
It will also be important to collaborate with leads of other disciplines in the Performance Education Team to ensure a consistent approach and alignment of delivery across all areas. You will also need to develop strong relationships and networks outside The FA, particularly with the Higher Education sector to ensure content is evidence-based and reflects the needs of the modern game. Research will be important in the department and you will be part of the team working on research projects to underpin and inform future course and content development.

To ensure consistency and access to the latest thinking in the England teams, you will need to liaise with the Head of Talent Identification in the Teams structure to ensure good practice is shared across Teams and Education.

 

THE PERSON

You have a strong academic and professional delivery background with a strong ability to write educational content to a variety of audiences. Experience of developing and delivering content in an academic institution at least to undergraduate level would be an advantage. You hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Performance Sport or Talent Development domains. A teaching qualification would also be advantageous.

Your knowledge of contemporary Talent Identification and Development models in a range of elite sport environments is critical. Similarly practical experience of player profiling and evidence based multi-disciplinary reviews of player development is essential. You have the ability to demonstrate excellent presentation, practical and theoretical delivery with the ability to use a variety of approaches and inspire learners.
As a leader and role model, you will bring energy and positivity to the role and you have a passion for developing people. You will already have a strong professional network and you enjoy building relationships with different groups of people and you have a track record of achieving your performance goals.
